The 15th Psychological Seminar-Training for Ukrainian Women Was Held in Germany

Posted on

On June 20–21, 2026, the fifteenth psychological seminar-training for Ukrainian women took place in Hamburg.

The seminar was conducted by the team of the project “Psychological Support for Victims of War in Ukraine”, consisting of Russian political émigrés Alexander and Galina Goncharenko, together with Ukrainian psychologist Natalia Stepanenko.

The main goal of the seminar-training program is to help Ukrainian women overcome the consequences of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and adaptation difficulties, improve their emotional well-being, regain their inner strength, and restore their desire to live.

The event was hosted by the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) with the support of the organization’s director, Günter Arndt, and Martina Baeurle, Managing Director of the Hamburg Foundation for Politically Persecuted Persons.

During the seminar, participants received theoretical knowledge and practical psychological self-help skills, shared their personal life stories, and helped create an atmosphere of trust, mutual support, and friendship. This was made possible by the high professional standards of the psychologist, the warmth and dedication of the project organizers and ASB staff, delicious Ukrainian cuisine prepared by skilled cooks, and the beautiful summer weather.

Most of the seminar sessions took place outdoors, accompanied by birdsong, creating a unique atmosphere of calmness and psychological comfort.

Over the course of fifteen seminar-trainings, a total of 185 Ukrainian women have received free psychological assistance, including 37 repeat participants.

The next seminar-training will take place on July 25–26, 2026.
